Trips and visitors to school are an important way in which we enhance the curriculum, and are hugely valued by the children and staff. Each year group goes on two trips per year, one in the autumn or spring and the second in the summer term In recent years we have visited:

• Southampton City Art Gallery 
• SeaCity Museum (Titanic)
• The Hawk Conservancy
• The Lookout Discovery Centre
• Harold Hillier Gardens
• Portchester Castle

Trips are paid for through voluntary contributions from parents. All trips are approved by governors and are fully risk assessed.

We also love having visitors to school and some are annual events that are an important part of our calendar. Every year we welcome Jim Bernardin - aka 'the drumming man'! - as well as a dance group who run workshops for all year groups. In recent years we have been lucky to have Kenn from Openbox Theatre deliver imaginative, fact-filled and fun workshops on minibeasts and the Amazon. During our topic on The Great Fire of London the children in KS1 work with The Rainbow Theatre to explore the four days of the fire with the children. Visitors to school are usually paid for by the PTA. 

Safeguarding protocols are in place for all visitors to school, including vetting prior to booking and ensuring that appropriate safeguarding measures are taken on the day. Class staff remain with the children in all workshops.
