We are really proud of our school uniform and we believe that coming in to school in clean, smart clothing helps the children mentally prepare for good quality learning. Earth Uniform sell the Buryfields uniform with our school logo. We have second hand uniform available to buy at any time, and the PTA also hold regular clothing sales of good quality second-hand uniform - items cost between £1 and £2. Please speak to the office if you would like to know more, or to request items. 

 

Our school uniform consists of:

• A simple white polo shirt (button shirts are allowed but children find the buttons very tricky)
• Grey shorts, trousers, skirt or dress (ideally with a long zip for ease).
• Optional - a royal blue gingham summer dress for the summer term. Please choose either a simple dress or shorts and not any elaborately detailed dresses or gingham two piece sets. Please also avoid 'all in one'/ jumpsuit styles (going to the toilet in these is a nightmare!).
• White, grey or black socks or white, grey or blue tights
• A royal blue jumper or cardigan (with or without the school logo) or school fleece
• A coat suitable for the weather (school coats are available but not compulsory). Please note, children in Year R play in mud kitchens throughout the year and coats do get mucky so please ensure coats can be washed easily and are not of high value or sentiment.

PE Kit:

• White t-shirt – with or without the school logo
• Blue or black shorts and/or jogging bottoms (we go outside throughout the year, including in the winter)
• A school hoodie can be worn, or their usual school jumper, cardigan or fleece
• Trainers (rather than plimsolls please)

• Black sensible shoes – not trainers or boots please, and suitable for running the Daily Mile in.
• Hair should be tied back with a simple hair tie, not large hair accessories.

Jewellery - children should not wear jewellery to school. If your child has pierced ears they should wear small silver or gold studs which they should be able to remove themselves before PE lessons (if they are unable to do this themselves then we will cover the earrings with tape). Watches are allowed as long as they are not smart watches.  The wearing of any make-up or nail varnish is not allowed.

Top tips:

• If you are buying a pinafore style dress, please ensure that it has a long zip down to the waist to allow the child to undress themselves. The ones with only a short zip are very tricky.
• If you are buying one of the (really lovely) school fleece coats, we suggest attaching a keepsake or charm to the zip to allow the children to identify their coat - as they are reversible sometimes they have trouble locating their name label!  Likewise this is a good thing to do on their book bags. 
• We ask that children bring a book bag to school rather than rucksacks as space in the classrooms is extremely limited. Book bags can also be purchased from Earth Uniform.
