Service Families
At Buryfields up to 40% of our children come from a service family – something which we feel makes our school a really special place. Many of us –support staff, teachers and lunchtime staff – have personal experiences of the forces, whether as a military spouse or child, and all of us appreciate the impact that being a service child can have on education.
There are a variety of ways in which we support our service children, from ‘deployment’ drop-in sessions to our parents’ coffee mornings – please click on the separate pages to find out more.
To colleagues from other schools, if you think any of our experience or documents might be of use to your school, please give us a call or send an email and we would be more than happy to chat and/or share.
The Supporting Service Pupils in Hampshire document can be accessed below; this gives an overview as to how our military children are supported in school.
Our Wraparound care provider accept MOD WAC scheme funding.
